Renovating: start with what is already there
Photograph the washbasin, water inlets and shower set before dismantling. Note the room dimensions, supply locations and type of hot water system. To replace a concealed component, record the reference of the body already installed: a new trim cannot be chosen on appearance alone.
Exposed fittings can reduce alterations to surface coverings, provided the connections are compatible. If you plan to move the controls into the wall, have your installer check feasibility before choosing that solution.
Plan the washbasin area as a complete set
Specify whether you are keeping the vanity unit and washbasin or replacing the whole arrangement. Send the basin height, its tap holes and the depth of the worktop. For a countertop basin, the spout position must be considered together with the bowl; for a wall-mounted tap, the finished wall dimensions are crucial.
Add the waste, trap and necessary accessories to the list, distinguishing those already supplied with the selected product. The catalogue lets you view the products; the final check covers the entire combination.
Define how the shower will be used before work begins
Decide whether you want a hand shower alone, an overhead shower or several water outlets. Explain who will use the bathroom and whether the project is for a main home, a rental property or guest rooms. These uses guide the choice of controls and ease of maintenance.
Your installer must check the pressure, available flow rate, hot water supply and drainage against the instructions for the selected products. For a concealed installation, list the basic body, control and outlets separately: a lifestyle photo is not a list of supplied items.
Compare quotations covering the same requirements
Create one line per item of equipment, with the room, full product reference, finish and quantity. List products separately from installation accessories, transport and fitting. This approach lets you compare two combinations without overlooking a waste fitting, connection or concealed component.
hansgrohe offers mixers and fittings for washbasins, showers, baths and kitchens. Technologies and finishes vary by product reference: ask for the specifications of the exact model instead of assuming they apply to the whole brand.
Coordinate the order, site work and receipt
For a project in Sfax, Djerba or elsewhere in the South, provide the city, delivery address, on-site contact and current stage of work. Have product availability distinguished from transport lead time. The installation schedule must take account of confirmation of the products needed at each stage.
On receipt, check the packages against your list: product reference, finish, quantity and included parts. Keep the packaging, instructions and order documents until the entire delivery has been checked. This makes communication easier if any questions arise before installation.
Send your project to EDIFIS
Prepare a message with your city, the number of bathrooms, plans or photos, dimensions and preferred products. Highlight what you wish to keep and what still needs to be chosen. An indicative budget per room helps prioritise the selection.
EDIFIS SUD supports your project remotely. To view products and finishes, EDIFIS showrooms are located in Grand Tunis, in L’Aouina and Sidi Daoud. Before travelling, ask for confirmation that the models you wish to see will be available.
